Jump-Start Your Public Relations and Grow Your Business

Posted October 19, 2007 by Margie Zable Fisher

Thanks to everyone who participated in our South Florida workshop.  Many people left with Public Relations plans.  The three points from the workshop that I’d like to share with all of you are:

  1. You must have a marketing budget.  A general rule of thumb is 2-10% of your projected gross sales for the next 12 months.
  2. You must have a clearly defined target market, that includes everything from geography, to gender, income or revenue and more.  Your P.R. activities should focus on reaching your target market.
  3. You must know where your referrals come from.  Your P.R. activities should also focus on reaching your referral sources.

If you missed our workshop or you’re not in South Florida, check out the upcoming teleseminar series from Joan Stewart on creating your 2008 Media Plan:  http://www.marketerschoice.com/app/?Clk=2136252
