Self-Published Books - Easy and Inexpensive

Posted March 21, 2007 by Margie Zable Fisher

I couldn’t wait to write this blog entry as soon as I read the USA Today article on Blurb (www.blurb.com).

According to the article, the owner of Blurb’s original goal was to self-publish a book of her own photography for a few close friends. She didn’t want to place a minimum order of 500 books or have upfront fees, which were required by self-publishing houses.  So she started Blurb to fulfill her own need — low-cost self-publishing. Upfront costs start as low as $18.95.

Many fans of the companies are professionals that want to use photographs in their books.

At a recent interior design conference that I spoke at, self-publishing a book with photos came up as a great idea.  This company can help you do that.

Most Blurb customers order books between 100-200 pages, which cost $37.95.  Blurb even offers free layout software.

This is a great resource. Again, more info is available at www.blurb.com
