And the Winner Is…
Posted January 28, 2007 by Margie Zable FisherI was reading something in the Wall Street Journal recently. It was a notice that said “Nominations are now being accepted for the first annual Top Small Workplaces Awards.” Deadline to enter is January 31, 2007. Winners will be featured in the Journal Report on October 1, 2007, as well as at a conference and celebration. Wouldn’t it be great to win this award?
This reminded me of the fact that awards are so terrific for Public Relations purposes. Why? Two reasons:
1) The company/person always gets featured in the media outlet that presents the award and/or in an awards program if the award is presented by an organization
2) The award can also be parlayed into additional P.R. opportunities
Several of my clients have received industry awards, business awards and organization awards, and those awards were also used as angles to get additional publicity, in major daily newspapers and TV shows.
My new 2007 Do-it-Yourself Public Relations Kit contains a list of awards almost anyone can apply for. For more information, go to http://zfpr.com/public_relations_kit.htm.
